Make a Snow Globe
A magical Christmas scene in two shakes.
You will need
- A screw-top jar
- Water
- Glycerine
- Glitter
- Strong glue
- Small plastic toy or decoration
Method
- Clean the jar and remove any labels.
- Ask an adult to help you glue your toy or decoration to the inside of the lid (but check first to make sure the toy will fit in the jar!).
- Once the glue is dry, fill the jar about one third full with glycerine, and add the glitter. The glycerine will thicken the water to make the glitter fall more slowly.
- Fill with water - but remember, the decoration will displace some water so don't fill it right to the very top.
- Screw the lid on tightly.
- Ask an adult to help glue around the lid on the outside of the jar to prevent any leaks.
- Now shake for a snowy scene!
Tip: you can decorate the lid with glitter or ribbon for an even more festive look!
