Banana facemask for oily skin
This is a soothing facemask and great if you have bananas around the house.
Ingredients
- 1 banana, preferably ripe (you can keep ripe bananas in the freezer; let them thaw before using)
- 1 tbsp honey
- An orange or a lemon
Method
- Mix the banana and honey together.
- Add a few drops of juice from an orange or a lemon.
- Apply to face for 15 minutes before rinsing with a cool washcloth or a steaming warm washcloth.
Avocado facemask for dry skin
Avocados and honey are particularly moisturising.
Ingredients
- ½ avocado
- ¼ cup honey
- An orange or a lemon
Preparation
A classic recipe for dry skin.
- Mash the avocado in a bowl, then stir in honey.
- Apply to skin and leave for 10 minutes.
- Rinse face with a cool washcloth.
Homemade oatmeal bath
This is a very soothing bath and ideal for dry skin.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of oats
- 1 nylon stocking
Preparation
- Tie stocking end in a knot.
- Turn on bath tap and set at a comfortable temperature.
- Hold stocking under the tap flowing at full force.
- Swirl stocking through water several times.
- Wring stocking out over water.
- Discard stocking (do not reuse).
- Soak in tub for 15 to 20 minutes.
Egg yolk conditioner
This makes your hair really shiny!
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon baby oil
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 cup water
Preparation
- Beat the egg yolk until its frothy, add the oil then beat again.
- Add to the water.
- Massage into the scalp and throughout your hair. Rinse well.
