Things To Do - January 2008
Top tips
Start as you mean to go on this New Year with our top ten tips!
-
Why not start a pillow fight this winter? Not only will it have you in fits of giggles, but
it’s a fun way to exercise and spend more time with the family.
-
Get out and about in the fresh air by arranging an exciting treasure hunt in your garden. You
could even reward those involved with a healthy treat afterwards. See some of the tasty lighter
recipes we have cooked-up including; blueberry muffins and yummy flapjacks!
-
Go to the cinema as a family – there are plenty of great films and animations coming out
this January that mums will enjoy too!
-
On your way to work this January, why not get off the bus a stop earlier? A refreshing walk
into the office will improve your health and clear your mind before the day begins. If you
drive to work, park slightly further away and walk in. That way you’ll avoid the hectic rush
hour traffic and feel the benefits of a stress-less commute!
-
A great song can really lift your mood, so why not switch on your favourite tunes and boogie
away whilst doing the housework or getting ready for work in the morning? It’s a
fantastic way to keep fit.
-
Dig out some of your more colourful winter clothes to instantly feel more cheerful. Do the
same for the kids and they’ll certainly appreciate the spring mood when the winter
evenings are dragging.
-
Arrange some silly family games that can be played indoor and out. How about pillow case race
instead of sack races or ‘hand pong’ where you use your hands to play ping-pong?
You can even create your own net with two cans, a piece of string and some sticky tape.
There’s no limit to how creative you can be.
-
Organise a Spring Clean – entice your little helpers by playing their much-loved pop
songs while you clear out the cupboards. Remember to recycle what you can too! For more

-
Grab a skipping rope, get outside and see how long can you skip for before you wear yourself
out. It keeps you warm too!
-
Take a walk with friends, catch up with those people you keep meaning to call and get some
fresh air at the same time. You could even make it a regular activity, with a nice cosy meal
at the end!
